I started my photography about 10 years ago when my father gave me a Nikon F90x that I still own. Over time a got a few lens and also bought myself a fully manual Nikon FM10 camera. For a few years I practiced endlessly shooting, revising, shooting, learning, etc. Until I discovered black & white film.
Black and white film is an amazing medium. For a while I shot Kodak’s professional C-41 based B&W film which I loved. Then I went into true B&W head first developing my own film and printing my own pictures. B&W is where I really learned the art.
A couple of years ago I got very busy with work and other projects and something had to give. Because I was staying up late at night in my darkroom, sometimes until 2am due to light leaks during day light hours, photography was the thing that I decided to put aside. It wasn’t a conscious decision, it was more of a, I don’t have the energy or time, decision.
For the last year, since I moved in Montreal I’ve been wanting to get back into photography, but couldn’t get my head around it simply due to being too busy. But now I decided to put this blog up in the hope to get back into photgraphy this summer.
Wish me luck.
